What a New Breeder Should Know

Breeding Tokay geckos is comparatively easy and very rewarding.  You can find several exciting online images of stunning and unique gecko morphs that may encourage you to breed and produce your own line of morphs. However, there are several things you need to consider before breeding your Tokay gecko in a full-scale, this may include time, money and space which unfortunately not all gecko owners have to breed successfully. To profitably breed your own line you should be able to feed you’re your breeders and hatchlings sufficiently, continuously upgrade your breeders, this means you need to have an access to large breeder collection to get your desired morphs. Also, you need to have a good market for both your expensive lines and the less expensive ones. However, as a new breeder, it is unlikely for you to have this market. (more…)
